Betty’s family came to Texas from Germany in the early 1830’s before Texas was even a Republic. Back in those years, Texas was part of Mexico called Coahuila y Tejas. Her earliest family member, Peter Pieper’s log cabin has been preserved under the roof of the new Texas Historical Commission’s San Felipe de Austin Museum at San Felipe Texas. Betty’s Grandmother’s Grandparent’s home is now the Museum of Texas Handmade Furniture in New Braunfels Texas. Another family home is the Valentine Hoch home in Hochheim Texas which served as the Stagecoach Inn on the Indianola to Austin Texas stagecoach line. Betty's Swedish ancestors came to the Austin Texas Travis County area about 1873. No wonder Betty is now a Certified Historic House Specialist with Advanced Training. She loves Texas history and preserving Texas Historic Homes. Betty has sold and preserved many notable historic homes including the exquisite Murray Burleson home on the banks of the Colorado River in Smithville Texas as well as the A.S.
